Description

StarTech ST12MHDLAN4R HDMI over IP Receiver

Overview

The StarTech ST12MHDLAN4R is a receiver unit designed to extend HDMI video and stereo audio signals over a standard IP network. It functions as the receiving end for the StarTech ST12MHDLAN4K HDMI over IP Extender Kit, allowing you to deploy displays up to 100 meters (328 feet) away from the source. This setup is ideal for digital signage, corporate AV, or any scenario where you need to distribute high-definition video content across a building without running long, bulky HDMI cables. The receiver unit connects to the network via an RJ45 port and outputs the HDMI signal to a display.

Compatibility

This receiver unit is specifically designed to work with the StarTech ST12MHDLAN4K HDMI over IP Extender Kit transmitter. It supports a maximum resolution of 3840x2160 (4K) at 30Hz. It is also backward compatible with lower resolutions including 2560x1600, 1920x1200, 1920x1080 (1080p), and 1280x720 (720p), all at 60Hz where applicable. The unit supports stereo sound transmission alongside the video signal.

Installation Notes

The receiver requires a network connection using standard Cat5e or Cat6 cabling, supporting bandwidth requirements between 480Mbps and 850Mbps. It operates on a 12V DC power supply, drawing up to 18 Watts. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F), making it suitable for controlled indoor environments. The unit has a latency of approximately 200ms, which is acceptable for most digital signage and presentation applications but may be noticeable in high-speed gaming or critical real-time control scenarios.
