Overview

The Hubbell HGRKTHT is a 19-inch rack-mountable grounding kit designed to provide Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection for sensitive electronic equipment. This kit ensures that rack-mounted devices, such as network switches, servers, and surveillance recorders, are properly bonded to the facility's grounding system. Proper grounding is critical in environments with high component density or where static electricity can build up, preventing damage to sensitive circuitry and ensuring system stability. The HGRKTHT is intended for installations where robust ESD mitigation is a requirement.

Compatibility

This grounding kit is designed for use with standard 19-inch server racks and cabinets. It is compatible with any rack-mounted equipment that requires a chassis ground connection to the rack frame. Specific compatibility extends to any system where ESD protection is a design consideration, including IT infrastructure, data centers, and professional audio-visual installations.

Installation Notes

Installation requires a standard T20 Torx driver (not included) for securing the grounding lugs. The kit includes a 24-inch grounding strap with pre-attached lugs for connection to the equipment chassis and the rack upright. Ensure the connection points on both the equipment and the rack are clean and free of paint or debris for optimal conductivity. The strap should be routed to avoid sharp bends or pinching. Torque the lug screws to 35 in-lbs (3.95 Nm) to ensure a secure connection without damaging the equipment or rack.
