Description

ACTi CDS-VUEVW-PROC-138 Protective Overlay Frame and Acrylic

Overview

The CDS-VUEVW-PROC-138 is a protective overlay frame and acrylic lens cover designed to shield dome camera optics from impact, vandalism, and environmental exposure. This accessory fits directly over the camera lens assembly, providing a sacrificial barrier that absorbs physical shock and UV degradation without compromising optical clarity. Deploy this where foot traffic, machinery vibration, or outdoor weather poses a risk to the primary lens element — the acrylic cover fails predictably and is field-replaceable, protecting the expensive camera body underneath.

Compatibility

The CDS-VUEVW-PROC-138 is engineered for ACTi dome camera models in the VueVW series. Verify exact model compatibility with the camera's datasheet or your ACTi documentation before ordering, as frame fitment is model-specific. This overlay mounts externally and does not require disassembly of the camera itself.

Installation Notes

Mount the frame assembly directly onto the dome housing using the integrated bracket tabs. Ensure the acrylic lens cover sits flush with the frame and does not contact the actual camera lens inside — air gap prevents thermal stress and condensation. Use the supplied fasteners (typically stainless steel screws) and do not over-tighten, as excessive torque can crack the acrylic or warp the frame. The protective acrylic will yellow and cloud over time with UV exposure; inspect quarterly in outdoor installations and replace the acrylic sheet when optical degradation exceeds your evidence-capture standards.
