Where a Viking system component needs a local AC power source independent of talk battery or central telephony infrastructure, the PS-3 drops in without additional hardware. The 2.1mm output plug mates directly with compatible Viking devices, and the 4-position screw terminal gives you solid, tool-secured wiring connections rather than friction-fit connectors that loosen over time. Maximum DC current draw on the supply side is 150mA — size your load accordingly before specifying. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 32°C (32°F to 90°F), so this is strictly an indoor, climate-controlled installation; outdoor telecom enclosures or unconditioned spaces require a different approach.

Compatibility

The PS-3 is confirmed compatible with the following Viking Electronics products: Viking Electronics intercom and paging line models LLA-4, PA-30, RG-224, RG-204, RG-212, and SA-25. The 2.1mm barrel plug output is the interface to verify before ordering — Viking accessories that use a different connector diameter or require DC rather than AC input are not served by this supply. The PS-3 is distinct from the Viking PS-2 (120VAC / 12VDC output) and the PS-48-RGA (48V DC talk battery plus 90V AC ring voltage) — confirm your target device's input voltage and connector spec before selecting. If your application requires intercom system ring voltage (90V AC at 20Hz up to 10 REN) or talk battery (48V DC), the PS-48-RGA is the correct choice, not the PS-3.

Wiring terminates at a 4-position screw terminal — use appropriately gauged conductors and confirm torque to terminal manufacturer spec to avoid intermittent connections. Derate total connected load to remain under the 150mA DC current maximum; exceeding this risks supply instability or damage to downstream Viking peripherals. Humidity tolerance is 5%–95% non-condensing, which rules out installation near HVAC condensation zones or unsealed exterior walls.
