Potter PSB-10 Bulk Power Supply
Overview
The Potter PSB-10 is a 10-amp bulk power supply engineered to deliver regulated 24VDC power to distributed access control installations, multi-reader systems, and integrated security networks. Built-in supervised battery charging (27.3VDC @ 1A) and low-battery cutoff protection keep backup power available for door strikes, readers, and auxiliary devices during AC loss. Form factor fits standard electrical enclosures and control cabinets with leveling mounts and key-lock cabinet. Switch-mode power design delivers up to 50% better efficiency than linear alternatives—meaningful on 24/7 systems where thermal output and power draw directly affect HVAC load and runtime cost.
Compatibility
The PSB-10 integrates with Potter control panels and third-party access control systems requiring continuous 24VDC. Supports applications calling for up to 10 amps of sustained load: multi-door strike mechanisms, distributed card readers, networked sensors, and auxiliary output modules. Battery backup range (7–55 amp-hour) accommodates both cabinet-mount (18Ahr inside the PSB case) and external battery configurations. Dual trouble relays (5A @ 30VDC) enable integration with panel supervision circuits and remote alarm notification.
Installation Notes
Input: 120/240 VAC (jumper-selectable), 50–60 Hz. Current draw: 5.1A @ 120VAC or 2.5A @ 240VAC. Output voltage range 20.4–27.3VDC accommodates typical access control loads. Battery standby draw 0.60A; alarm mode 200 mA. Enclosure dimensions: 16.125″ W × 16.75″ H × 3.5″ D (red powder-coat). Integrated diagnostics via LED indicators: AC (green), Earth Fault (amber), Battery Fault (amber). Low AC trouble reporting with optional delay settings supports panel-level AC loss detection and logging.
