Description

Middle Atlantic PHCM-2-3 2RU Horizontal Cable Manager

Overview

The Middle Atlantic PHCM-2-3 is a 2-rack-unit plastic horizontal cable manager built for keeping patch cords and low-voltage cabling organized at the rack level. At 3 inches deep, it gives you enough channel volume to route a reasonable bundle of patch cables without letting them droop across equipment faces — a common problem in dense AV and security rack builds. The PHCM-2-3 includes a removable hinged cover, so you can close off the cable path for a clean presentation or swing it open for fast adds and moves without disconnecting runs.

The plastic finger design keeps cable runs separated and guides them toward the sides or rear of the rack, reducing stress on RJ-45 connectors and keeping airflow lanes clear in front of switches and NVRs. For integrators managing multiple cable drops per rack unit, having dedicated manager panels between active equipment is the difference between a serviceable install and a rats' nest that costs time on every return visit.

Compatibility

The PHCM-2-3 mounts in standard 19-inch cable management positions on both 2-post and 4-post racks — no special adapter hardware required for either form factor. It integrates directly with the Middle Atlantic PCD Series vertical duct system, allowing horizontal-to-vertical transitions within a single rack without improvised tie-down points. This makes it a natural pairing for rack builds using Middle Atlantic enclosures and vertical managers, particularly in security head-end rooms, AV equipment racks, and network closets where PCD ducts are already spec'd. Occupies 2 RU, so account for that space when laying out rack unit allocation alongside NVRs, PoE switches, and patch panels.

Installation Notes

Position the PHCM-2-3 between active equipment rows — typically above or below patch panels and network switches — to intercept cable at the point it leaves the port rather than letting it run unsupported across rack faces. The hinged cover is removable, so no tools are needed to access the cable channel after installation. Confirm rack rail spacing is standard EIA-310 before ordering; non-standard rails will affect mounting fit.
