Description

Pelco FMCI-BF1SM1ST B-Side SM ST Fiber Converter

The Pelco FMCI-BF1SM1ST is a B-side Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) WDM fiber media converter designed to extend security camera system connectivity over single-mode fiber infrastructure. When paired with the FMCI-AF1SM1ST A-side unit, this converter establishes a complete bidirectional single-fiber link, enabling efficient long-distance camera deployments while conserving valuable fiber capacity in constrained pathways.

Key Features

  • 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet WDM fiber media conversion
  • Single-mode fiber with ST connectors
  • Bidirectional operation on single fiber strand
  • Standard-size enclosure with external power supply
  • NDAA Section 889 compliant for regulated installations
  • 1-year manufacturer warranty

Technical Highlights

This B-side unit must be paired with the FMCI-AF1SM1ST A-side converter—two B-side units cannot establish a link. Install one unit at the head-end (control center) and the other at the remote camera location. The WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) technology enables simultaneous bidirectional communication over a single fiber strand, critical for installations where fiber capacity is limited or trenching costs are prohibitive.

Compatibility and Integration

Engineered for seamless integration with Pelco Camera Systems, this accessory supports professional installation workflows and enterprise-grade deployment standards. The converter is built to withstand environmental demands of commercial and industrial surveillance applications. For multimode fiber infrastructure, the FMCI-BF1MM1ST is available as an alternative. For organizations requiring SFP-based flexibility, Pelco offers the FMCI-PF1 or FMCI-PF1M series.

Applications

  • Extended-distance camera deployments over fiber optic infrastructure
  • Government and regulated facility surveillance requiring NDAA compliance
  • Campus and multi-building security systems
  • Industrial and critical infrastructure monitoring
