Description

Panduit FW2RPU1U1ONM015 Fiber Optic Patch Cord

Overview

The Panduit Opti-Core® FW2RPU1U1ONM015 is a 15-meter (49.21 ft) OM5 duplex fiber optic patch cord designed for high-speed data transmission in enterprise and data center environments. It features LC Duplex Uniboot connectors on both ends, simplifying cable management with its push-pull tab and reversible polarity, allowing for quick configuration changes without tools. The lime green jacket signifies OM5 multimode fiber, optimized for short-wave wavelength division multiplexing (SWDM) applications, delivering higher bandwidth and supporting up to 400Gbps Ethernet. This cord is plenum-rated (OFNP) for use in air-handling spaces, meeting stringent safety requirements.

Compatibility

This patch cord is compatible with any network equipment featuring standard LC Duplex connectors. Its OM5 fiber type is backward compatible with OM3 and OM4 infrastructure but is specifically engineered for optimal performance with SWDM transceivers, enabling higher data rates over existing duplex fiber cabling. It is suitable for use with managed fiber optic systems and switches requiring specific fiber types for performance targets.

Installation Notes

The Uniboot design allows for easy polarity reversal by simply twisting the connector housing, eliminating the need for manual re-termination or specialized tools. The 2mm diameter cable offers a balance between flexibility and durability. Ensure the LC connectors are clean before insertion into ports to prevent signal degradation. The OFNP rating mandates installation in accordance with plenum cable fire codes.
