Description

Panduit FW2RPU1U1NNM036 OM5 Fiber Patch Cable

Overview

The Panduit FW2RPU1U1NNM036 is a 36-meter (118.1 ft) OM5 duplex LC uniboot fiber optic patch cable. This cable is designed for high-speed data transmission in demanding environments like data centers, telecommunications rooms, and equipment distribution areas. Its OM5 wideband multimode fiber supports 40Gbps and 100Gbps Ethernet applications with reduced modal bandwidth limitations, enabling longer reach for these higher speeds compared to older multimode types. The plenum (OFNP) rating ensures compliance with building fire codes for installation in air-handling spaces.

Compatibility

This cable is compatible with any network equipment featuring duplex LC connectors and supporting OM5 wideband multimode fiber specifications. It is suitable for use with Panduit's QuickNet™ fiber connectivity systems and other infrastructure adhering to TIA-568.3-D, ISO/IEC 11801, and ANSI/TIA-942-B standards. This includes a wide range of switches, servers, and transceivers from various manufacturers that utilize LC duplex interfaces for fiber optic connections.

Installation Notes

The uniboot design simplifies cable management by housing both fibers within a single jacket and connector body, allowing for push-pull tab operation for polarity reversal without re-terminating the cable. Ensure connectors are clean before insertion to maintain signal integrity and prevent performance degradation. The cable's 36-meter length requires adequate pathway planning to avoid excessive strain or sharp bends, which can impact signal attenuation.
