Overview
The Altronix NETWAY8M is an 8-port midspan injector designed to deliver both data and power over a single Ethernet cable to network devices. This unit is specifically engineered for IP surveillance systems, enabling the deployment of IP cameras, access control readers, and other PoE-enabled devices without requiring local power outlets. The NETWAY8M supports up to 300W total power output, distributed across its eight ports, with individual port power management and an 115VAC shutdown trigger for system-wide deactivation. This simplifies installation by reducing cabling complexity and cost.
Compatibility
This injector is compatible with any IEEE 802.3af (PoE) and 802.3at (PoE+) compliant network devices. This includes a wide range of IP cameras from manufacturers such as Axis, Hanwha, Hikvision, Dahua, and others that draw power via their Ethernet port. It is also suitable for powering IP phones, wireless access points, and other network-attached devices that adhere to these PoE standards. The NETWAY8M is designed to integrate into existing network infrastructure without requiring special configuration beyond connecting the devices.
Installation Notes
The NETWAY8M requires a 115VAC input power source. It features standard RJ45 connectors for both data input (from the network switch) and data + power output (to the end devices). Ensure the total power draw of connected devices does not exceed the 300W total capacity of the unit. The 115VAC shutdown trigger input allows for external control of power delivery to all ports, useful for emergency deactivation or scheduled power cycling.
