The FPO150/250-2C82D8E4 is a 16-channel fused power distribution enclosure from Lifesafety Power, sized for surveillance and access-control field installations where you need to step down 12V or 24V DC to multiple locked outputs without a separate power management rack. The unit delivers either 150W (12A @ 12V or 6A @ 24V) or 250W (20A @ 12V or 10A @ 24V) depending on voltage selection — enough to power a small zone of cameras, readers, and door strikes from a single control point. Each of the 16 auxiliary outputs is individually fused at 3A, so a short on one load won't cascade to others. The E4 enclosure rating provides standard mechanical protection and is sized for wall or cabinet mounting in weatherprotected environments.
This enclosure works with any 12V or 24V DC power source (typically a redundant power supply or UPS output) feeding the main input terminals. It is commonly paired with fire-alarm and security control panels that require distributed, fused field power — particularly systems using Lifesafety Power or third-party power supplies rated for 12/24V dual-voltage operation. Verify that your source supply can deliver the required amperage (12A or 20A respectively) to avoid nuisance fuse trips under full load. The unit does not include integral surge suppression; install appropriate surge protection upstream on the main supply if your installation runs through exposed cabling or areas prone to transient events.
Mount the enclosure in a locked cabinet, utility closet, or protected panel space — the E4 rating assumes indoor or sheltered outdoor use only. Wire the main supply to the primary input terminals using appropriately sized conductors (typically 10 AWG or larger for 12A / 20A service). Each of the 16 fused outputs accepts 14–12 AWG field wiring. Fuses are standard cartridge-type rated at 3A per channel; carry spares on-site. Do not exceed 3A per output line — exceeding this rating will blow the fuse and that channel goes dark until replaced. Ensure all conductors are properly terminated and secured to prevent vibration-induced loosening in vehicles or mechanical spaces.
