The E8V-BOXED is a 36"×30"×6.5" black wall-mounted enclosure designed to house power distribution equipment, battery backup modules, and access control wiring in commercial security installations. The included Vertx back plate provides a structured mounting surface for DIN rail components and terminal blocks, reducing field assembly time and ensuring consistent internal organization across multiple installs. This form factor addresses the space constraint problem in retrofit projects where wall cavity depth is limited — the 6.5" depth accommodates standard power modules without requiring deep conduit runs or cabinet extensions.
The E8V-BOXED integrates with Lifesafety Power's modular power supply ecosystem, including E8 series backup batteries, voltage regulators, and surge protection modules. The Vertx back plate accepts standard DIN rail components (35mm rail) and supports metric M5 and M6 fasteners for terminal block mounting. The enclosure exterior dimensions fit standard wall cavity spacing (16" and 24" stud centers) and accommodates conduit entries up to 1.5" NPT on top and side knockouts. Compatible with both 24VDC and 120VAC distribution architectures common to access control panels, intercoms, and integrated security systems.
Mount using four lag bolts or masonry anchors (not supplied) into studs or concrete at 16" centers minimum. Drill entry holes for incoming power and sensor circuits before mounting — field changes after installation require enclosure removal. Provide 12" minimum clearance above and to sides for future module replacement. Ensure adequate ventilation around the enclosure; do not enclose or cover ventilation knockouts. All field wiring must comply with NEC Article 725 (Class 2 circuits) and local electrical codes. Internal temperatures may reach 60°C under full load; plan battery placement accordingly to avoid thermal stress.
