Overview
The Lenovo 4X97A59835 is a factory-supplied intrusion detection cable kit engineered for ThinkSystem rack servers. The intrusion cable connects the server chassis intrusion switch to the system board, enabling the server to detect and log unauthorized physical access events — an audit and compliance requirement in data center environments where chassis tampering must be tracked. Without this cable, the intrusion detection circuit is open and the server cannot report a chassis-open event to the BMC or to management software.
Compatibility
Designed specifically for the following Lenovo ThinkSystem server platforms:
- ThinkSystem SR630 V2 — 1U dual-socket rack server
- ThinkSystem SR650 V2 — 2U dual-socket rack server
This kit is not interchangeable with V1-generation SR630 or SR650 chassis; connector routing and cable length are matched to the V2 internal layout. Confirm your server chassis generation before ordering — V1 and V2 platforms use different cable assemblies.
Installation Notes
The intrusion cable routes from the chassis intrusion switch header to a dedicated connector on the system board. Installation requires no tools beyond standard ESD precautions. Seat both connectors fully until they click — a partially engaged connector will leave the intrusion circuit open, producing a false chassis-open alert in XClarity or IPMI event logs. Power down and follow Lenovo's standard ESD handling procedures before accessing the internal cable routing path.
