Description

Lenovo 4X67A84160 Xeon Gold 6426Y 16-Core Processor Option Kit

Overview

The Lenovo 4X67A84160 is a processor option kit pairing the Intel Xeon Gold 6426Y 16-core, 2.5GHz, 185W TDP CPU with the hardware needed to install it in a compatible Lenovo ThinkSystem server. This kit addresses a common rack-expansion scenario: deploying a second processor in a single-socket configuration to double compute throughput without replacing the entire server platform. At 185W TDP, the 6426Y sits in the mid-range of the Xeon Gold 6400-series power envelope — enough headroom for compute-intensive workloads without pushing the chassis thermal budget to its ceiling. Note that this kit ships without a fan; the target chassis must already have adequate cooling installed, or a separate fan option kit must be ordered alongside it.

Compatibility

The 4X67A84160 is designed for the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650 V3 server. It is not cross-compatible with earlier SR650 generations (V1, V2) or other ThinkSystem platforms — the SR650 V3 uses a distinct socket and power-delivery architecture specific to the 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable (Sapphire Rapids) family. If your deployment runs an SR630 V3, SR850 V3, or any non-V3 platform, this kit does not apply. Verify the exact chassis generation before ordering to avoid a return.

Installation Notes

This kit is designated a processor option kit without fan — cooling hardware is a separate line item. Before installing, confirm the SR650 V3 chassis has the required active cooling module provisioned for a dual-processor configuration; single-socket builds ship with asymmetric fan and baffle configurations that must be reconfigured for two populated sockets. Follow Lenovo's SR650 V3 hardware maintenance guide for socket cover removal, thermal interface application, and torque sequence. Country of origin is Mexico; UNSPSC commodity code 43211502.
