The coded-C keying system is Panduit's mechanical anti-tampering layer. Coded ferrules and adapters have a keyed shape that physically blocks insertion of non-matching connectors. In environments where fiber patch panels feed critical NVR uplinks, evidence storage, or building management networks, coded fiber prevents accidental (or malicious) re-patching by unauthorized personnel. The asymmetric coded/non-coded design on this cord is common in hierarchical architectures: coded end plugs into a secure distribution panel (with coded adapters), non-coded end plugs into a standard equipment port.
