Overview

The Black Box KVXLCDPF-200-SFPBN1 is a DisplayPort and USB KVM extender designed for extending high-resolution video and peripheral control signals over long distances using fiber optic cable. This unit is ideal for scenarios requiring secure, high-bandwidth signal transmission where network infrastructure is either unavailable or undesirable, such as industrial control rooms, broadcast facilities, or secure government installations. The KVXLCDPF-200-SFPBN1 enables you to place displays and user workstations up to 10 kilometers away from the source equipment, ensuring a clean signal path free from electromagnetic interference.

Compatibility

This KVM extender is compatible with systems utilizing DisplayPort 1.2 and USB 2.0 interfaces. It supports resolutions up to 4K (3840x2160) at 60Hz, provided the connected DisplayPort source and monitor support the required bandwidth. The USB 2.0 interface supports high-speed data transfer for keyboards, mice, and other HID-compliant peripherals. For optimal performance and maximum extension distance, it requires the use of SFP+ transceivers (sold separately) compatible with single-mode fiber optic cabling.

Installation Notes

Installation requires two units: a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter connects to the DisplayPort and USB source devices, while the receiver connects to the DisplayPort monitor and USB peripherals. Both units are connected via a single strand of single-mode fiber optic cable using LC connectors.
