HID 2001HPGGAN iClass 16K/2 Programmed Card (Standard Range, Gloss Both Sides, Laser Match)
The HID 2001HPGGAN is an iClass 16K/2 contactless smart card programmed at the factory with customer credential data, standard range, glossy on both faces, with the iClass number laser-etched and no slot punch. iClass is HID's high-frequency contactless smart card standard, offering stronger security than 125 kHz Prox with mutual authentication and encrypted credential data.
Key Features
- HID iClass 16K/2 contactless smart card
- Factory programmed with customer credential data
- Standard read range for typical wall and mullion readers
- Glossy finish on both faces (suitable for direct printing on both sides)
- Laser-etched iClass card number for visual reference
- No slot punch (full card body intact)
- 13.56 MHz, ISO ID-1 form factor
iClass offers a significant security upgrade over 125 kHz Prox. Where Prox card data can be cloned with consumer-grade tools, iClass uses mutual authentication and an encrypted memory model that resists casual cloning. The 16K/2 memory configuration provides enough space for the standard access-control credential, with room for additional applications if the customer wants to use the card for cashless payment, time attendance, or printer release.
Specify the facility code and card number range up front. Decide on the iClass key strategy: HID's standard key, the customer's own custom key, or HID Elite for highest assurance. Plan the badge printing workflow if cards will be printed in-house — iClass cards are compatible with most badge printers. Track issued cards and de-activate lost/returned cards promptly. For very high-security applications, consider iClass SE or Seos as a further upgrade.
