Overview
The HPE HU4A7A40BD0 provides high-density, low-latency switching capabilities for demanding network environments. It is designed to integrate into HPE FlexFabric 5940 series chassis switches, offering expanded port density and performance. This module is suitable for data center aggregation or core roles where high throughput and minimal latency are critical, such as in surveillance backbones or high-performance computing clusters. The HU4A7A40BD0 model supports up to 2560 Gbps of switching capacity.
Compatibility
This module is compatible with the HPE FlexFabric 5940 4-slot Switch (JH398A) and the HPE FlexFabric 5940 2-slot Switch (JH397A). It provides additional module slots within these chassis for expanded port configurations.
Installation Notes
Installation requires insertion into an available module slot within a compatible HPE FlexFabric 5940 chassis. Ensure the chassis is powered off before installation. The module supports Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) on 10GbE and 40GbE ports, and Fibre Channel 8Gb/4Gb/2Gb support on any of the 24 converged ports of the JH184A module, if that module is also installed.
Switching Performance
The HPE HU4A7A40BD0 offers significant throughput and capacity. When installed in a 4-slot chassis, it supports up to 1429 Mpps throughput and 2560 Gbps switching capacity. In a 2-slot chassis, it delivers up to 1071 Mpps throughput and 1440 Gbps switching capacity. It features two QSFP+ 40GbE ports and provides 10 Gbps latency of less than 1 μs, ensuring rapid data transfer for critical applications.
