Description

HPE P55321-B21 NVMe Cable Kit for ProLiant DL560 Gen11

Overview

The HPE P55321-B21 is a factory-new NVMe cable kit designed specifically for the ProLiant DL560 Gen11 server in an 8SFF (Small Form Factor) bay configuration with a 4-port direct-attach connector (DAC) arrangement. If you are expanding or replacing the NVMe backplane interconnect in a DL560 Gen11 — whether during initial build-out or a post-deploy bay reconfiguration — this kit provides the correct HPE-spec cabling to maintain signal integrity on the NVMe interface. Running non-OEM or mismatched cabling on NVMe backplane connections can introduce latency, negotiation failures, or intermittent drive drop-outs; P55321-B21 eliminates that risk with cables matched to HPE's DL560 Gen11 electrical specifications. The kit weighs 0.28 lb (0.13 kg) and measures 9.06 × 11.42 × 1.97 in (23.01 × 29.01 × 5 cm), compact enough to store as a spare without consuming significant rack-room inventory space.

Compatibility

Verified compatible with the HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen11 server only. This cable kit is purpose-built for the X4 NVMe B1 4-port DAC topology within the server components lineup — it is not a universal NVMe cable and should not be substituted into other DL560 generations (Gen9, Gen10, Gen10 Plus) or other ProLiant chassis families (DL380, DL360, DL580) without HPE confirmation of cross-compatibility. If your DL560 Gen11 is configured with LFF (Large Form Factor) bays or a different backplane zone, verify the bay mapping against HPE's QuickSpecs before ordering.

Installation Notes

Install follows HPE's standard DL560 Gen11 internal cabling procedure — consult the HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen11 Server Maintenance and Service Guide for connector seating torque and cable routing constraints specific to the X4 NVMe B1 backplane zone. Ensure the server is powered down and discharged before handling internal NVMe interconnects, as live-swap is not supported on backplane cable replacements.
