The P48904-B21 is a standard 1U heat sink kit designed for HPE ProLiant DL3X0 Gen11 rack servers. If you are replacing a failed or missing processor cooler, or adding a second CPU to an existing DL3X0 Gen11 chassis, this kit provides the correct factory thermal solution for standard-TDP processor configurations in a 1U form factor. Installing the wrong heat sink — either a high-performance variant sized for a higher-TDP processor or a unit from a prior Gen — can result in thermal throttling or POST failures, making exact part matching critical.
Compatibility
This kit is designed for the HPE ProLiant DL3X0 Gen11 server family. The DL3X0 designation covers the DL360 Gen11 and DL380 Gen11 platforms. Confirm your chassis generation and processor TDP before ordering — Gen11 heat sinks are not interchangeable with Gen10 or Gen10 Plus variants, and standard-TDP coolers are not rated for high-performance (HPE HPP) processor SKUs, which require a separate high-performance heat sink kit.
Installation Notes
