Description

HPE P48903-B21 DL360 Gen11 x16 Low-Profile Riser Kit

Overview

The HPE P48903-B21 is a PCIe x16 low-profile riser kit designed specifically for the ProLiant DL360 Gen11 1U rack server. If you're adding a low-profile expansion card — such as a network adapter, HBA, or GPU accelerator — and the server shipped without this riser populated, P48903-B21 is the assembly required to make that slot functional. Without it, the physical PCIe slot on the system board has no bracket or retention hardware to accept a half-height card. This kit resolves that gap cleanly, keeping the build factory-correct rather than relying on aftermarket workarounds.

Compatibility

This riser kit is validated for the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen11 platform only. It is not cross-compatible with Gen10, Gen10 Plus, or other ProLiant form factors (DL380, DL560, etc.) — those platforms use different riser assemblies with distinct backplane connectors and bracket geometries. Confirm your server's existing riser configuration before ordering: the DL360 Gen11 supports multiple riser options depending on the base configuration purchased, and installing a duplicate or incompatible riser will prevent proper seating. Check HPE's rack server QuickSpecs for the DL360 Gen11 to verify which riser slots are already populated in your specific SKU.

Installation Notes

The kit weighs 1.10 lb and measures 10.70 × 12.90 × 2.60 in — a standard 1U riser footprint. Installation is tool-assisted: the riser seats into the system board riser connector and is secured to the chassis via captive screws. Power down, remove the access panel, and discharge static before handling. No external power connectors are required for the riser assembly itself; power to any installed expansion card is drawn through the PCIe slot. Consult the DL360 Gen11 Maintenance and Service Guide for torque specifications and slot assignment before installing an expansion card into the riser.
