Overview

The Middle Atlantic UCP-SF is a 2RU hinged frame kit designed to mount up to five UCP (Universal Connection Panel) modules in a standard 19-inch equipment rack. The UCP-SF provides the structural chassis — a 19-in wide, 3.5-in tall black-finished steel frame at just 1.36-in deep — into which individual UCP connector modules snap or slide. This shallow depth keeps the panel from encroaching on cable management space behind shallow rack shelves, and the hinged design lets you swing the populated frame forward for rear-access wiring without pulling the unit out of the rack. Deploy it in AV racks, security head-end enclosures, or IT closets where modular patching flexibility matters more than a fixed-port panel.

Compatibility

The UCP-SF is part of Middle Atlantic's UCP product family and accepts any standard UCP-series connector modules — including but not limited to HDMI, USB, VGA, audio, and network pass-through inserts sold separately. The frame fits any standard 19-in EIA rack with two rack units of open space. It is not compatible with non-UCP Middle Atlantic panel inserts or with third-party modular insert systems. Confirm individual module compatibility against Middle Atlantic's current UCP module lineup before ordering, as module form factors are not interchangeable across competing systems. This kit ships as a single frame; UCP modules are purchased separately.

Installation Notes

The frame occupies exactly 2RU (3.5 in) of vertical rack space and mounts via two rack-rail mounting points — standard 10-32 or 12-24 rack screws (not included). At 1.36-in depth, it clears the rear plane of most shallow rack enclosures. Shipping weight is 0.4 lbs, so no special support hardware is required. The hinged mechanism requires adequate clearance in front of the rack to swing the frame open; verify at least 8–10 in of front clearance before finalizing rack layout in tight rack enclosure configurations.
