Description

QNAP TRAY-35-NK-BLK03 3.5" / 2.5" Keyless HDD Tray

Overview

The TRAY-35-NK-BLK03 is a keyless (no-lock) replacement or spare drive tray for QNAP NAS enclosures that accept 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives. If you are expanding a QNAP array, hot-swapping a failed drive, or deploying a chassis that shipped without trays, this is the direct factory-matched solution — no improvised brackets, no compatibility guesswork. The keyless design skips the lock cylinder, which reduces per-tray cost in rack environments where physical tray security is managed at the enclosure or room level rather than the individual bay.

Compatibility

This tray is designed for QNAP NAS enclosures that use the standard 3.5-inch tray slot with support for 2.5-inch drive mounting. Compatible enclosure families include QNAP TS-x53, TS-x73, TS-x77, TVS-x72, TVS-x82, TVS-h series, and other QNAP models specifying the BLK03-series tray. Because QNAP produces multiple tray form factors (keyed vs. keyless; plastic vs. metal; varying bay depths), verify your enclosure model against QNAP's tray compatibility list before ordering — a mismatched tray body will not seat correctly and can obstruct the backplane connector. This tray does not fit QNAP rackmount units that use a different tray latch mechanism or enterprise 2.5-inch-only slim bays.

Installation Notes

Seat the drive in the tray before sliding it into the bay — attempting to insert the drive after the tray is partially installed risks connector misalignment. For 2.5-inch drives, use the side-mount screw holes on the tray floor; confirm screw length does not protrude into the drive PCB. The keyless design means the tray releases with a standard lever pull — no tray key required, but ensure the retention latch clicks fully seated to maintain vibration contact with the backplane during operation.
