The Veracity HD-20000 is a 3.5-inch, 20TB Serial ATA hard drive built for network video recorder (NVR) and surveillance system storage expansion. This capacity—20TB per drive—lets you store approximately 240–480 hours of H.265-compressed 4MP video per unit (depending on codec and bitrate), making it a cost-effective way to expand retention on mid-to-large camera deployments without swapping the entire storage subsystem. Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in your NVR pairs directly with SATA drive capacity to scale recording duration across dozens of cameras in retail, warehouse, and enterprise security environments.
The HD-20000 works with any network video recorder or surveillance storage enclosure that accepts standard 3.5-inch SATA drives—including Hikvision, Uniview, Dahua, and Axis NVR models with internal or external SATA expansion bays. Confirm your NVR's drive slot count and power budget before installation; most commercial NVRs support 2–8 internal drives. If your system uses dedicated NAS or iSCSI storage, verify SATA compatibility with your appliance before ordering. The drive does not work with USB external enclosures or Thunderbolt interfaces—SATA backplane direct connection only.
Ensure your NVR power supply has sufficient 12V rail capacity to drive all installed drives. Each 3.5-inch SATA drive typically draws 5–8W at idle; calculate total bay load before maxing out slots. Mount the drive in a 3.5-inch SATA tray or internal bay using standard metric M3 screws (typically included with the NVR enclosure). Do not force the SATA data or power connectors; alignment should be smooth. Allow 15–30 minutes for the NVR to detect and format the new drive after power-on. If the drive does not appear in the NVR's storage menu after reboot, check the BIOS or firmware settings to enable the additional bay.
