Geovision GV-REMOTE Remote Control
Overview
The GV-REMOTE is a dedicated remote control unit for Geovision surveillance deployments running GV-VMS (up to 64 channels). Use it to manage recording, playback, and system configuration from the field or secondary control point without tethering operators to the main console. This accessory eliminates the need for direct physical access to the DVR/NVR during troubleshooting, live monitoring, or multi-site operations.
Compatibility
The GV-REMOTE pairs with Geovision GV-VMS systems — both the base version (up to 32 channels) and GV-VMS Pro (up to 64 channels). It also works with GeoVision's broader ecosystem, including third-party ONVIF cameras integrated into GV-VMS. Verify your specific DVR/NVR model supports remote control input before ordering. GV-VMS runs on 64-bit Windows 8, 8.1, 10, 11, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, Server 2019, and Server 2022 with a minimum of 8 GB RAM.
Installation Notes
The GV-REMOTE connects to compatible Geovision hardware via standard control protocols. No special wiring or power supply is required for the remote itself — integration depends on your DVR/NVR's remote input interface. Test the control link before relying on it in production; some legacy Geovision models may require firmware updates or additional configuration to recognize the remote control input. Distance and wireless range are dependent on the specific interface used (wired RS-485, IP network via GV-VMS software, or proprietary wireless bridge if deployed).
