Geovision GV-SD SD V2 Cover
Overview
The Geovision GV-SD is a protective dome cover designed for SD V2 series PTZ cameras. This accessory shields the optical dome and housing from direct environmental exposure—dust, salt spray, and weather debris—while maintaining transmission clarity for the 30x optical zoom lens and infrared emitters. Deploy this where the camera itself sits in a harsh or semi-exposed location but you want to reduce cleaning cycles and protect the optical surfaces from degradation. The cover works with cameras rated IP67 and IK10, extending the effective service life without introducing optical artifacts or zoom range loss.
Compatibility
This cover is designed specifically for the Geovision SD V2 series, including the GV-SD2411 V2 and compatible SD V2 platform models. It is intended for PTZ cameras with the same dome geometry and mounting interface as the SD V2 family. Verify your camera model against the SD V2 designation before ordering—this accessory will not fit earlier SD V1 variants or unrelated Geovision dome lines.
Installation Notes
The cover mounts directly to the existing camera housing without modification to the PTZ head, pan/tilt motors, or PoE++ power supply (90 W). It does not interfere with 360° endless pan or the full −15° to +195° tilt range. Ensure the dome is already secured to your mounting surface (wall, ceiling, pole, pendant, or corner bracket) before installing the cover. The cover material is designed to shed water and resist UV degradation in outdoor environments with operating temperatures ranging from −40°C to +50°C (−40°F to +122°F). No additional sealing or adhesive is required beyond the cover's own gasket interface.
