Overview

The SMAX-0244 is a gang box converter designed to mount outdoor PTZ cameras directly to standard electrical gang box enclosures. This adapter eliminates the need for separate mounting brackets or additional hardware in retrofit installations where wall-mounted gang boxes are already in place or preferred. The converter provides a stable interface between your PTZ camera and the gang box, reducing installation complexity and material costs on projects where gang box mounting is the constraint.

Compatibility

The SMAX-0244 is engineered for ACTi outdoor PTZ and dome camera families. Verify your specific PTZ model against ACTi's camera compatibility matrix before ordering — gang box converters are mount-specific, and mismatched form factors will not secure properly. Installation in standard North American electrical gang boxes (2-gang, 3-gang configurations) is supported; international box standards may require field adaptation.

Installation Notes

Mount the converter to the gang box using standard electrical box fasteners (not included). Ensure the mounting surface is structurally sound and level before positioning the PTZ camera. The SMAX-0244 is rated for outdoor use; verify that your gang box enclosure provides adequate environmental protection (IP66 minimum recommended) to protect the camera's power and control connectors from rain and dust.
