Overview
The FLIR CM-6408-11-IA is a quad HD 4K mini-dome surveillance camera designed for indoor and outdoor deployments where vandal resistance and infrared imaging are core requirements. The unit combines a varifocal 4.3–10.8mm lens with AI-capable video analytics and a vandal-resistant housing, making it suitable for high-traffic areas, retail environments, and perimeter monitoring where physical robustness is non-negotiable.
Compatibility
The CM-6408-11-IA integrates with any standard IP video management system supporting ONVIF Profile S/T protocols. Integration with FLIR Lorex and FLIR TrackTM surveillance platforms is verified; third-party NVR systems (Milestone, Genetec, Hikvision iVMS, etc.) will recognize the camera via ONVIF discovery and support both H.265 and H.264 streams. PoE injectors or PoE-capable network switches deliver power; verify your switch supports PoE+ (802.3at) or higher to meet the camera's power budget.
Installation Notes
Mount the dome to ceiling or wall brackets using the supplied template. Ensure mounting surface can withstand the camera weight and impact loads typical of vandal-resistant housings. Environmental rating of IP66/IK10 permits outdoor installation in rain and moderate hail; confirm the mounting enclosure (if used) matches or exceeds this rating. Operating range is –40°C to 60°C; verify local temperature extremes do not exceed these limits. All wiring should follow standard PoE installation practices: shielded Cat6 or better for runs over 100 feet, surge protection recommended at building entrance points.
