Panduit FST2MC6EI Fiber Optic Connector
Overview
The Panduit FST2MC6EI OptiCam™ ST simplex fiber optic connector is designed for rapid, field-installable termination of 900-μm multimode OM1 fiber optic cable. This connector significantly reduces installation time by eliminating the need for field polishing, making it ideal for emergency restoration, retrofitting, or new installations within interconnection and cross-connect panelization processes. The prepolished fiber end-face ensures consistent performance and simplifies the termination workflow.
Compatibility
This connector is specifically designed for 62.5/125μm multimode OM1 fiber optic cable. It utilizes the TIA/EIA-604 FOCIS-2 standard for physical connector interfaces, ensuring compatibility with standard ST connectors and related fiber optic infrastructure components. It is suitable for use in systems requiring OM1 fiber performance and adheres to TIA/EIA-568-D.3 requirements.
Installation Notes
Field termination can be completed in approximately two minutes using the OptiCam 2 termination tool (sold separately). The connector features a 900μm buffer and a natural/ivory colored body and boot, designed for easy identification and management within fiber optic panels.
