Altronix EBRIDGE800E Ethernet over Coax Receiver
Overview
The Altronix EBRIDGE800E is a 1U rackmount receiver designed to extend IP camera networks over existing coaxial cable infrastructure. It integrates an 8-port Ethernet over Coax (EoC) receiver with a 240W PoE/PoE+ switch, allowing you to deploy modern IP cameras in locations where running new Ethernet cable is cost-prohibitive or impractical. This unit is suitable for retrofitting older analog CCTV systems to IP, providing a cost-effective upgrade path for surveillance systems. The EBRIDGE800E model supports 100Mbps per port, ensuring sufficient bandwidth for high-definition IP cameras.
Compatibility
This receiver is designed to work with Altronix EBRIDGE100E, EBRIDGE100E2, EBRIDGE100E4, and EBRIDGE100E8 transmitters. It facilitates the transmission of IP data and power over coax, enabling the use of a wide range of IP cameras that support standard PoE (802.3af) and PoE+ (802.3at) power delivery. It is intended for use in IP-based video surveillance systems where existing coax cabling is present.
Installation Notes
The unit requires a standard 110/220VAC power input. It is designed for rack mounting and includes necessary hardware for a 1U installation. Ensure proper ventilation around the unit, as it generates heat during operation, especially when delivering full PoE/PoE+ to multiple devices. Connect the coax cables from the compatible Altronix transmitters to the receiver ports. The integrated switch provides standard RJ45 outputs for connecting to your network video recorder (NVR) or network switch.
