DMP GP-23 Surface Mount Magnetic Contact
Overview
The DMP GP-23 is a surface-mount magnetic contact designed for perimeter intrusion detection on doors and windows. This sensor addresses the core challenge of installing contacts where recessed (flush) mounting is impractical — standard door frames, retrofit applications, and commercial installations where drilling into frames creates maintenance or structural concerns. The GP-23 features a 1" gap between the magnet and switch body, which defines the maximum separation before the contact opens and triggers an alarm. All screws are concealed and wiring can be routed from the top, bottom, side, or hidden behind the body, reducing visible installation footprint and protecting wire runs from physical damage or tampering.
Compatibility
The GP-23 integrates with DMP intrusion control panels and DMP-compatible security system architectures. Confirm compatibility with your specific DMP panel model before purchase — contact your system integrator or DMP support for a compatibility matrix if you're unsure. Surface-mount contacts are most common on residential and small-to-medium commercial perimeter deployments where recessed mounting is not an option.
Installation Notes
Mount the contact body to the door or window frame using supplied fasteners; position the magnet on the moving panel (door or sash) so that the gap remains within 1" when the panel is closed. Test the contact before final commissioning to confirm the magnet maintains proper alignment through the full range of door/window motion. Hidden wire routing reduces splicing points and eliminates exposed runs that could degrade over time. No specialized tools are required beyond a standard drill and screwdriver for installation.
