Overview

The DMP 694-7800-W is a mounting backplate for pin-entry keypad installations. It serves as a direct retrofit component when upgrading legacy Bosch/Radionics keypads or aging DMP 600 and 700 Series readers to the newer 7800 Series Touchscreen Keypads. Dimensions are 8.25" wide by 6.5" tall — sized to cover the wall cavity and screw holes left by older reader installations without requiring additional wall patching or structural modification.

Compatibility

This backplate is engineered specifically for the DMP 7800 Series Touchscreen Keypads. It bridges retrofit scenarios: if you're replacing a Bosch/Radionics keypad or DMP 600/700 Series reader with a 7800 touchscreen, the 694-7800-W accommodates existing mounting holes and wiring runs, eliminating the need for wall repair or conduit rework. Verify mounting hole spacing on your existing keypad reader before ordering — the backplate is a mechanical fit component and does not offer electrical compatibility conversion.

Installation Notes

This is a passive mounting component. Ensure the wall surface is clean and flat — any deviation greater than 1/8" may create gaps. If the existing wiring runs are not aligned with the 7800 keypad's terminal block position, you may need to re-route cabling inside the wall. The backplate itself has no power, signaling, or communication role; it is purely mechanical. Install the 7800 touchscreen atop the backplate per the keypad's own installation guide.
