The Cradlepoint 170836-000 is a charcoal-finished dual-band WiFi antenna (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz) with RPSMA direct-attach connector, built for field deployment and remote site connectivity. At 194 mm (7.6 in), it mounts directly to compatible Cradlepoint mobile broadband and wireless gateways without adapters or external wiring. Install this when you need to extend or replace the factory WiFi antenna on a Cradlepoint router operating in harsh environments, temporary network setups, or mobile connectivity scenarios — anywhere RPSMA-equipped Cradlepoint hardware is already in place.
Compatibility
The 170836-000 integrates with Cradlepoint routers and gateways featuring RPSMA antenna ports. Compatible models include: E3000, AER2200, AER1600, IBR1700, IBR200, R980, R920 Series, S700 Series, S400, and R500-PLTE (US only). Note that IBR900 and IBR600C are end-of-life but accept this antenna if still deployed. Verify your Cradlepoint device documentation to confirm RPSMA port availability before ordering.
Installation Notes
The RPSMA connector is a direct-attach male thread — no tools or external connectors required. Simply hand-tighten onto the RPSMA port on your Cradlepoint gateway or router. No power draw, no configuration needed. The 194 mm length provides adequate clearance for most mounting orientations; confirm physical space in your enclosure or pole-mount setup before final placement. This antenna is not TAA-compliant.
