Overview
The Comelit 1454K is software distributed on USB that converts a standard PC into a virtual door entry monitor. Install it on a workstation wired directly to a Comelit VIP system, and that PC becomes an answering position for intercom calls—handling 2MP video and two-way audio without requiring a dedicated physical monitor panel at that location. Solves the problem of needing multiple staffed answering points (reception, security desk, remote office) without purchasing separate hardware for each.
Compatibility
The 1454K is preconfigured for the single-family Comelit VIP KIT (Art. 8501) and compatible with the broader Comelit VIP intercom ecosystem. It requires a PC with direct network wiring to the VIP system infrastructure—not through VPN or public internet gateways. Verify your door stations and entry panels are Comelit VIP branded; this software will not manage third-party intercom hardware or non-Comelit access control systems. If you are mixing intercom vendors or need manufacturer-agnostic management across multiple brands, this is not the right choice.
Installation Notes
The 1454K ships on USB and installs locally on the target PC. No cloud or remote server deployment. The PC must be physically wired to the VIP system network—confirm your infrastructure supports dedicated LAN connectivity for the workstation running this software. QoS and bandwidth planning matter if you plan to run multiple concurrent video sessions from the same PC or network segment; video streaming will consume measurable throughput. Test bandwidth availability before deployment, especially in facilities with heavy data traffic on the same LAN.
