Ted here. The Code Blue 40027 is a solid choice when you need to get a camera up on a pole in harsh outdoor environments. That IP68 rating means real submersion protection—not just "weather-resistant"—so you're covered in coastal installs, car washes, or anywhere condensation and driving rain are concerns. The PoE passthrough keeps wiring simple, which matters when you're running cable up a 15-foot pole and don't want to troubleshoot separate power later.
One thing to verify before ordering: confirm your camera's weight and wind load rating. Pole mounts look straightforward until you're dealing with a heavy PTZ or a site with consistent 40mph gusts. The 40027 works well for compact bullet and dome cameras, but if you're mounting something larger, double-check the manufacturer's load spec and consider guy-wire reinforcement depending on pole height. Also, while it supports 802.3af PoE, cameras pulling near the 15.4W limit in cold weather (with heaters running) can occasionally cause voltage drop issues on long runs—plan your cable lengths accordingly.
