The CCD220 is a precision scientific imaging component — 240×240 active pixels, 24µm pixel pitch, sapphire window, and a compact Peltier-cooled package measuring 33.5×68.3×14.1 mm and weighing 83 g. At that price point and sensitivity level, an unprotected sensor in transit is a liability. This case addresses that directly by providing a controlled enclosure matched to the module's physical envelope and protecting the sapphire window and 64-pin interface from mechanical shock, dust ingress, and handling damage during bench-to-system moves or field deployment.
