Overview
The Middle Atlantic ALA-BL is a blank panel designed to fill unused rack unit spaces in Middle Atlantic enclosures and compatible open-frame or enclosed rack systems. Empty rack openings disrupt front-to-back airflow, allowing hot exhaust air to recirculate into equipment intakes — a blank panel blocks that path and keeps thermal management working as designed. The ALA-BL is the straightforward answer when a rack bay is populated with equipment that doesn't fill every RU slot and you need to close gaps without adding active components.
Compatibility
Designed for Middle Atlantic rack enclosures and compatible with standard EIA 19-inch rack systems. Fits any open rack unit space in Middle Atlantic's enclosure lines, including the WRK, BGR, ERK, and SRK series. Also compatible with third-party 19-inch EIA-310 compliant racks where a standard blank filler panel is appropriate. Verify the rack unit height of the open slot before ordering — blank panels are unit-specific and a mismatched RU height will not seat flush.
Installation Notes
Snap or screw into standard rack rail positions using the rack's existing cage nuts or clip-nut hardware — no additional tools or fasteners typically required beyond what the host rack provides. Confirm the rack rail hole pattern (square, round, or threaded) matches your installation hardware before deployment.
