Overview

The APC by Schneider Electric BE425M is a standby Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from power disturbances. With a 425 VA / 255 W capacity, it provides essential battery backup and surge protection for devices like network switches, modems, or workstations during brief power outages or voltage fluctuations. Its compact form factor and 4-foot power cord make it suitable for deployment in tight spaces within network closets or under desks. The BE425M is engineered to deliver clean power, ensuring your critical devices remain operational during common grid issues.

Compatibility

This UPS is designed for standard 120V equipment. It is compatible with a wide range of network devices, including but not limited to: small network switches, routers, modems, VoIP phones, and entry-level workstations. It is not intended for high-draw devices such as laser printers, servers, or large AV equipment, which require higher VA/Wattage ratings and pure sine wave output.

Installation Notes

The unit draws a maximum of 5A and connects to a standard NEMA 5-15P wall outlet. It features 4 NEMA 5-15R outlets that provide both battery backup and surge protection, and 2 additional NEMA 5-15R outlets that offer surge protection only. The input voltage range is adjustable from 88 to 139 VAC, and the output frequency is 50/60 Hz ± 3 Hz (Auto Sensing). The UPS requires approximately 8 hours for a full battery recharge after a discharge event.
