Axis 5801-141 Security Relay Box
Overview
The Axis 5801-141 is a security relay module designed to bridge network video door stations with electronic locks and access control systems. The unit houses two isolated Form C relay contacts (DPDT configuration), allowing the door station to switch discrete circuits under panel command. Operating range is 15–32 VDC with a standby current draw of 0.255 mA maximum at 24 VDC. Mount the 5801-141 on the secure side of the door to protect wiring and lock connections from external tampering. The relay detects breach attempts and responds by maintaining lock integrity — a critical layer when video verification alone is insufficient.
Compatibility
The Axis 5801-141 integrates with Axis network video door stations and access control ecosystems that require relay switching. Install it as part of a two-factor door security strategy: video identity verification at the station, physical tamper detection at the relay. Confirm your door station control protocol supports direct relay commands before ordering — some legacy systems require adapter modules.
Installation Notes
Mount directly into a standard 4-inch square electrical box with minimum 2-1/8-inch depth. The relay occupies 4.675 inches H × 4.275 inches W × 1.4 inches D and weighs 6.3 ounces. Use SEMS screws for terminal connections — no special tools required. Rotary address switches allow fast field configuration without software. Wire the Form C contacts for your lock strike, door position monitoring, or other normally open/closed applications — relay ratings vary by contact load (consult datasheet for current limits per circuit). Operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F); verify your installation environment stays within this window.
