Geovision 84-AS81000-010U Access Control Door Controller
Overview
The Geovision 84-AS81000-010U is a compact access control module that manages up to eight doors under one-way control (reader trigger → lock) or four doors under two-way control (reader ↔ lock status feedback). This controller solves the common problem of expanding door capacity beyond a single panel or deploying distributed control in multi-building campuses without installing a full access control system at each location. The Wiegand protocol compatibility means it integrates directly with standard 26-bit and 34-bit Wiegand readers — no protocol converters needed. Deploy this in retail chains where each location needs independent door control, warehouse zones with separate access tiers, or as a redundant controller alongside an existing Geovision panel.
Compatibility
The 84-AS81000-010U works with Geovision card readers, keypad modules, and biometric readers that output Wiegand data. It is compatible with any third-party reader or credential format using standard Wiegand protocol (26-bit and 34-bit formats). If your existing readers connect to a Geovision access control system or use Wiegand output, this module integrates in-line to expand door capacity or provide supplementary control in multi-panel environments. Confirm reader voltage and Wiegand pinout compatibility with your integrator before wiring; proprietary readers with non-Wiegand protocols will require conversion hardware.
Installation Notes
Mount the controller in a secure equipment enclosure or cabinet near the access point — never in an unprotected wall cavity or outdoor location. Wiegand data lines from readers must use shielded twisted-pair cable to minimize noise from motor controls and high-current supplies in electrically busy environments. Lock control outputs are relay contacts rated for door strike or magnetic lock coils; verify your lock's voltage and current draw before wiring to avoid relay damage. Power supply (12VDC) must be sized for the cumulative load of all connected locks and readers. Plan for adequate wire gauge and voltage drop, especially if the controller is located more than 50 feet from the power supply.
