Overview
The APC by Schneider Electric AR8100 is a hardware kit providing the necessary screws and cage nuts for securely mounting standard 19-inch rack-mountable equipment. This component is essential for building stable and organized server racks, network closets, or AV installations where equipment needs to be physically secured to rack rails.
Compatibility
Designed for use with any standard 19-inch equipment rack. The included cage nuts feature a spring-loaded mechanism for tool-less insertion into rack rail square holes, while the screws are standard thread sizes compatible with threaded rack holes and cage nuts. This makes the AR8100 universally compatible with most rack systems from APC by Schneider Electric, as well as third-party racks adhering to EIA-310 standards.
Installation Notes
The kit includes M6 screws and M6 cage nuts, the most common standard for rack mounting. For installation, insert the cage nuts into the desired square holes on the rack rails, ensuring the spring clip engages securely. Then, align the equipment with the rack and thread the screws through the equipment's mounting ears into the cage nuts. A flathead or Phillips screwdriver (depending on screw head type, typically Phillips for M6) is required for the screws. Ensure equipment is properly aligned before tightening to prevent cross-threading.
