Description

Altronix T2RM7F8SD Rack Mount Power Distribution Module

Overview

The Altronix T2RM7F8SD is a 1U rack mountable power distribution module designed to provide 8 fused outputs for powering surveillance cameras, access control devices, or other low voltage equipment. This unit is ideal for centralizing power distribution within a server rack, simplifying wiring and management in security installations. The T2RM7F8SD efficiently delivers regulated power, ensuring stable operation for connected devices. Its compact form factor is suited for environments where space is at a premium, such as network closets or head-end equipment racks.

Compatibility

This power distribution module is designed to work with a wide range of low voltage DC powered surveillance and access control equipment. It accepts a 12VDC or 24VDC input (depending on the power source connected to the unit) and distributes it to 8 individual outputs. Each output is protected by a PTC thermal fuse, rated at 2.5A, preventing damage from overcurrent conditions. It is compatible with various Altronix power supply chassis and other 12VDC or 24VDC power sources that can supply sufficient current for all 8 outputs. Specific compatibility extends to systems requiring distributed power for multiple devices, such as IP camera arrays or networked access readers.

Installation Notes

Installation requires connecting a suitable 12VDC or 24VDC power source to the input terminals. The 8 outputs are clearly labeled and feature screw terminals for secure wire connections. Each output is individually protected by a resettable PTC thermal fuse rated at 2.5A, which automatically resets after a fault condition is cleared. The unit is designed for standard 19-inch rack mounting, occupying 1U of vertical space. Ensure the total current draw of all connected devices does not exceed the capacity of the input power source or the sum of individual PTC fuse ratings.
