Overview

The Add-On SFP-1G-BX-U-20-N-AO is a Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) optical transceiver designed to extend network connectivity over single-mode fiber (SMF) for distances up to 20 kilometers. It operates at 1Gbps, providing a cost-effective solution for extending backbone networks or connecting remote sites.

Compatibility

This SFP module is designed to be compatible with network devices featuring standard SFP ports. It is specifically tested and validated for use with Alcatel networking equipment, including but not limited to the OmniSwitch 6850 series, OmniSwitch 6900 series, and other Alcatel switches and routers that support 1Gbps SFP transceivers. Installation Notes

Install the SFP module into an available SFP slot on your network device. Ensure the device is powered off or that the slot supports hot-swapping. Gently push the module in until it clicks into place. Connect the single-mode fiber optic cable to the LC connector on the transceiver. Verify link status on the network device's management interface. The module utilizes a Bi-Directional (BX) design, meaning it uses different wavelengths for transmit and receive on a single fiber strand, requiring a corresponding BX transceiver on the other end.
