Overview

The Altronix NETWAY5PWPN is a compact, 5-port, unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for network video and access control deployments where PoE+ power delivery is required. It provides four PoE+ ports capable of powering compliant devices, alongside one standard Gigabit uplink port. This unit is intended for installations where a separate power supply is sourced independently, offering flexibility in power management. The NETWAY5PWPN is suitable for extending network connectivity and power to edge devices in environments like retail, small offices, or distributed surveillance systems.

Compatibility

This switch is compatible with any IEEE 802.3af/at compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE+) device. This includes most modern IP cameras (e.g., Axis P32-series, Hikvision DS-2CD series, Dahua Lite series), IP intercoms, wireless access points, and electronic door controllers that draw power via Ethernet. The single 10/100/1000 Mbps uplink port ensures compatibility with standard network infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, and NVRs/DVRs supporting Gigabit Ethernet.

Installation Notes

The NETWAY5PWPN requires an external 48-57 VDC power source (not included) to operate the PoE+ ports. Each PoE+ port can deliver up to 25W, with a total PoE power budget of 60W across the four ports. Ensure the selected power supply meets or exceeds this requirement. The unit is designed for non-rackmount installation, typically wall-mounted or placed on a shelf. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 70°C (-40°F to 158°F), allowing deployment in a variety of environmental conditions.
