Description

Middle Atlantic HW500 10/32 Phillips Captive Washer Rackscrews — 500-Piece Jar

Overview

The Middle Atlantic HW500 is a 500-piece jar of 10/32 Phillips trim-head captive washer rackscrews finished in black steel — the standard fastener for populating rack rails in AV, security, and IT equipment deployments. Having 500 units on hand means a full rack build or multi-rack installation won't stall for hardware. The captive washer keeps the fastener assembly intact during panel insertions, reducing dropped hardware inside live equipment enclosures. At 0.75 in length, these screws seat flush against standard 10/32-tapped rack rails without bottoming out in shallow rail threads.

Compatibility

Sized for Middle Atlantic rack enclosures and any rack accessory or equipment chassis with standard 10/32 threaded rail — the dominant thread specification across open-frame and enclosed rack cabinets from Middle Atlantic, Legrand, Belden, Chatsworth, Rittal, and most 19-inch EIA-310 compliant frames. Compatible with 1U through 4U panels, patch panels, power distribution units, NVR/DVR chassis, UPS units, and any rackmount device specifying 10/32 fasteners. Not suitable for M6 or 12/24 rail threads — verify your rack rail thread spec before ordering.

Installation Notes

Drive style is Phillips — a #2 Phillips bit seats correctly and reduces cam-out risk on the trim head profile. The black oxide finish blends with dark rack interiors and provides light corrosion resistance in conditioned indoor environments. The reusable jar supports organized storage on a job site or in a van stock kit; pull the quantity needed per rack without repackaging.
