The Panduit D22SPW is a factory-white side panel designed for Net-Verse 42RU frames with 1200mm (47.2") depth. This panel closes off lateral access to rack-mounted equipment, providing physical security, dust/debris containment, and controlled airflow separation in data center hot-aisle/cold-aisle deployments. The 68.2" height matches standard 42U rack frames, while the 44.75" width dimension accommodates the Net-Verse 1200mm-depth cabinet profile. White RAL 9003 powder-coat finish integrates with Panduit's Net-Verse aesthetic for customer-facing or cleanroom installations where appearance matters. Sold individually—order two panels for full enclosure of a single frame.
Side panels are the last-mile enclosure component most integrators spec after the frame, doors, and roof are locked in. The D22SPW uses Panduit's slide-and-snap retention clips that hook directly into the 42U vertical rail slots—no cage nuts, no M6 screws, no threading fasteners in tight aisles between adjacent racks. You align the top edge, compress the spring clips, and slide the panel down until it seats. Removal is the reverse: lift, disengage, pull out. This matters in dense data center rows where you're working in 30" aisles and can't swing a drill. The panel's 0.063" (1.6mm) cold-rolled steel thickness provides structural rigidity without sagging over the 68" span, while formed edges eliminate sharp corners that catch cable bundles or installer forearms during rack builds.
The 1200mm depth designation refers to the cabinet's front-to-rear frame depth, not the panel width. This depth class is Panduit's mid-range option—deeper than the 800mm frames used for network switches and shallow servers, but shorter than the 1400mm frames required for blade chassis or long-depth storage arrays. If you're mounting standard 30" depth servers and UPS units, 1200mm frames give you rear-door clearance for power cables and adequate front working space for rail-mount installation. The D22SPW's width (44.75" / 1136.7mm) spans the frame's side opening, overlapping the front and rear vertical rails by approximately 1" on each end for positive engagement. This overlap is critical: it ensures the panel can't fall inward if the bottom clip disengages during equipment removal or seismic events. The panel does not extend past the frame footprint, so you can deploy frames in back-to-back rows without the side panels colliding.
White finish serves two deployment scenarios. First, front-of-house or customer-visible spaces—lobby server closets, retail back-offices, medical imaging equipment rooms—where black server racks look industrial and out of place. The RAL 9003-equivalent white matches commercial cabinetry and blends into white or light-gray walls. Second, cleanroom or pharmaceutical environments where dark surfaces show particulate contamination and black powder-coat sheds fine particles during handling. The finish is baked powder-coat over phosphate-treated steel, not paint, so it resists chipping when you slide equipment rails or cable managers past the panel edge during installations. Panduit applies the coating after forming and punching, so all edges and clip slots are fully covered—no bare steel to rust in humid mechanical rooms or coastal data centers.
RoHS compliance is baseline for Panduit's Net-Verse line, but it still blocks procurement in certain verticals. California Prop 65, EU public-sector RFPs, and Joint Commission-accredited hospital facility projects all require RoHS documentation at bid time. The D22SPW meets RoHS 2015/863 (the current directive including four additional phthalates beyond the original 2011/65 six substances), which keeps you eligible for these projects without substitution paperwork. Panels ship individually in corrugated cartons with corner protectors—no pallet quantity minimums—so you can order exact quantities for single-rack deployments or service calls without overbuying. Typical lead time from authorized distributors is same-week for white panels; custom RAL colors (black oxide, gray, beige) require factory lead time and MOQs.
