Description

Geovision 84-IOBOX08-1E4U I/O Expansion Box

Overview

The Geovision 84-IOBOX08-1E4U is a compact I/O expansion box that extends the alarm and trigger capacity of compatible Geovision surveillance systems. It provides 8 digital inputs and 4 relay outputs—the core tools for wiring external sensors (door contacts, motion detectors, panic buttons) and actuators (alarm horns, gate relays, strobe lights) into your NVR or DVR. Deploy this when your base system's built-in I/O is exhausted and you need to add alarm zones, trigger automated responses, or log events from distributed facilities without running separate alarm cabinets.

Compatibility

The 84-IOBOX08-1E4U integrates with Geovision IP camera and NVR systems that support the 400-IOBOX protocol. Confirm your NVR model supports external I/O expansion before ordering—compatibility is system-firmware-dependent. Contact your integrator or Geovision support with your NVR model number for definitive compatibility verification.

Installation Notes

Mount the unit in a protected indoor location near your NVR or network infrastructure. Connection to the NVR is via standard network cabling (Ethernet); digital input and relay output terminals accept standard 18–22 AWG control wiring. Ensure 24V DC auxiliary power is available if your system requires it—some Geovision systems derive I/O power from the NVR, others require a separate regulated supply. Verify power requirements with your NVR documentation before installation. The box is designed for standard equipment racks and shelving; no special environmental hardening is built in, so keep it indoors and away from moisture.
