Overview
The Altronix NETWAYSP4 is a 1U rack-mountable unit designed to extend network connectivity over fiber optic cable while simultaneously providing high-power PoE+ or Hi-PoE to connected devices. This unit is ideal for extending network reach in environments where standard Ethernet cable lengths are insufficient, such as large industrial facilities, campus networks, or long-haul surveillance deployments. The NETWAYSP4 allows you to bridge the gap between standard Ethernet devices and fiber optic infrastructure, ensuring reliable data transmission and power delivery up to 100 meters over copper and significantly further over fiber.
Compatibility
This transceiver is compatible with any standard network device requiring Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, including IP cameras, access control readers, wireless access points, and other PoE-enabled equipment. It supports four (4) 1Gb SFP fiber transceivers (sold separately) for extended network reach and four (4) Gigabit Ethernet ports for direct device connection. The unit accepts input power from 48-56VDC or directly via PoE+ (30W) or Hi-PoE (60W) input, making it versatile for various power sourcing setups. It is designed to work with standard network switches and PoE injectors.
Installation Notes
The NETWAYSP4 operates reliably within a wide temperature range of – 40ºC to 50ºC, suitable for demanding environmental conditions. It requires a 48-56VDC power input or can be powered by a PoE+ (30W) or Hi-PoE (60W) source. Each of the four Ethernet ports can deliver up to 120W maximum output power, with specific support for 30W PoE+ or 60W Hi-PoE. The unit is designed for standard 19-inch rack mounting. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit, especially when operating at higher power outputs and temperatures.
