Speco Technologies H24WHRL2TB Concise Descriptor
Overview
The Speco H24WHRL2TB is a 24-channel wall-mount hybrid recorder designed for mixed analog and IP camera deployments. It combines 8 dedicated TVI channels, 8 channels that accept either TVI or IP input, and 8 pure IP channels — useful when you're migrating from analog to IP or supporting both technologies on the same site. Native 5MP resolution on all channels plus 4K capability on up to 8 channels keeps footage detail usable without forcing storage overkill. The 2TB factory-installed drive provides baseline capacity; two SATA ports support up to 28TB total internal storage, and an eSATA port adds another 8TB for extended retention without external NAS complexity.
Compatibility
The H24WHRL2TB works with Speco IP cameras (discovery and auto-configuration via EZ Wizards) and third-party ONVIF-compliant cameras on the IP channels. TVI channels support Speco and compatible TVI analog cameras (500TVL to 5MP). The recorder outputs via 4K HDMI and VGA, so it integrates with standard control room monitors and KVM systems. Remote access is web-based and mobile-compatible; P2P and US-based DDNS services are included at no additional cost.
Installation Notes
Wall mounting means physical space planning — verify adequate clearance for cable runs and ventilation. The recorder accepts 4, 8, or 16 alarm inputs and delivers 1, 2, or 4 outputs, so wire accordingly for door sensors or relay-driven devices. Two-way audio is supported for talkback on select cameras. H.265 compression cuts storage consumption roughly in half versus H.264 — meaningful when you're filling a 2TB baseline with 24 channels at high resolution.
