Overview

The ATEN CS1182DP4 is a 2-port secure KVM switch designed for environments demanding high security and data isolation. It enables a single operator to share a DisplayPort monitor, USB keyboard, and USB mouse across two separate computer sources without compromising data integrity. This unit is ideal for government, military, or financial institutions where strict security protocols are enforced, specifically meeting NIAP Protection Profile v4.0 requirements. The CS1182DP4 ensures complete isolation between connected computers and peripherals, preventing any unauthorized data leakage or access.

Compatibility

This secure KVM switch supports any computer system outputting a DisplayPort video signal and utilizing USB for keyboard and mouse input. It is compatible with standard PC operating systems and any workstation that adheres to these display and peripheral interface standards. The unit is designed to work with standard USB HID (Human Interface Device) keyboards and mice. For video, it requires a DisplayPort output from the source computers, supporting resolutions up to 4K (4096x2160) at 60Hz.

Installation Notes

Connect the console DisplayPort and USB Type-A ports to your monitor and peripherals. Use the included or equivalent DisplayPort cables to connect the computer-side video ports from each source computer to the KVM's console video inputs. Similarly, connect USB Type-A ports from each source computer to the KVM's computer-side USB ports. Port selection is managed via a physical pushbutton on the unit or an optional remote port selector (sold separately), ensuring a secure and deliberate switch between systems.
